Shampoo

I recently suffered from post-pregnancy hair loss, at less than 4 months after I gave birth. I was really depressed at the strands of hair that fell off as I washed and combed my hair. During my first pregnancy, switching to Sebamed's Everyday shampoo and Anti-Hairloss shampoo helped. However, this time around, these didn't resolve my problem. I tried using Redken's hairloss shampoo but also to no avail. Pimples also developed on my scalp. These went on for about 2 months.

Then I recalled that I have a bottle of Shu Uemura Shusu Sleek Smoothing Shampoo in my cabinet. I read from the label that it doesn't contain parabens (a common preservative in skincare products), and some other harmful stuff. I decided to give it a try. Wow! There was significantly less hairloss as I was shampooing and combing my hair! It also helped to hydrate and hair, and it felt softer. I was sold.

I explored and gone on to try other haircare brands that are less harsh to the scalp. I'm now alternating between the Shu Uemura shampoo and these: Lavera organic sensitive shampoo, and Rene Furterer Naturia shampoo. The Lavera and Rene Furterer shampoos help to calm my scalp, but are more drying. All three shampoos lather and rinse well.

In conclusion, I realised that my hairloss was due to scalp sensitivity, that was why hairloss shampoos seemed to worsen my condition as they are probably quite harsh. I'm glad I made the switch. Now I've obvious hair growth on my hairline which looks like a new short fringe! Just sharing my experience to benefit other new mothers!
