Shampoo

I recently suffered from post-pregnancy hair loss, at less than 4 months after I gave birth. I was really depressed at the strands of hair that fell off as I washed and combed my hair. During my first pregnancy, switching to Sebamed's Everyday shampoo and Anti-Hairloss shampoo helped. However, this time around, these didn't resolve my problem. I tried using Redken's hairloss shampoo but also to no avail. Pimples also developed on my scalp. These went on for about 2 months.

Then I recalled that I have a bottle of Shu Uemura Shusu Sleek Smoothing Shampoo in my cabinet. I read from the label that it doesn't contain parabens (a common preservative in skincare products), and some other harmful stuff. I decided to give it a try. Wow! There was significantly less hairloss as I was shampooing and combing my hair! It also helped to hydrate and hair, and it felt softer. I was sold.

I explored and gone on to try other haircare brands that are less harsh to the scalp. I'm now alternating between the Shu Uemura shampoo and these: Lavera organic sensitive shampoo, and Rene Furterer Naturia shampoo. The Lavera and Rene Furterer shampoos help to calm my scalp, but are more drying. All three shampoos lather and rinse well.

In conclusion, I realised that my hairloss was due to scalp sensitivity, that was why hairloss shampoos seemed to worsen my condition as they are probably quite harsh. I'm glad I made the switch. Now I've obvious hair growth on my hairline which looks like a new short fringe! Just sharing my experience to benefit other new mothers!

Suisse Programme Hydra Solution Extreme Moisture Treatment mask

You might be wondering why I'm suddenly trying out and posting my reviews of facial masks. I'm on a few months leave from work, so I'm trying to finish my stock of masks!

Just tried Suisse Programme's Hydra Solution Extreme Moisture Treatment mask. It comes in a box of 6 masks and a tube of serum, like the gigawhite radiance mask. The mask isn't as large as the gigawhite one, and fits my face better. There are no flaps for the eye area. I've tried the mask twice, and so far, the hydrating effect is ok.

Envie De Neuf Hyaluronic Acid Whitening Hydromask

A short review of Envie De Neuf's Hyaluronic Acid Whitening Hydromask

There are 10 mask sheets in a box. The price is rather steep, so it's best to wait for promotional prices before purchasing e.g. during Isetan or Robinsons sales.

There is a lot of essence in the mask packet! When I put on the mask, the essence will drip onto my shirt. Now, I will press the mask first, then massage some of the essence onto my skin, before putting on the mask. The mask fits my face pretty well.

The mask helps to brighten and hydrate my skin. However, the whitening effect does not seem to last as long as Suisse Programme's Gigawhite Radiance Treatment mask.

Suisse Programme Gigawhite Radiance Treatment Mask

I recently tried Suisse Programme's Gigawhite Radiance Treatment Mask. There are 6 sheet masks in a box, with an additional 7ml bottle of Gigawhite Fresh Radiance Serum. The sheet mask is too big for my face, and I have to fold in the sides of the mask. There are no flaps for the eye area. The serum is a clear light gel, which is easily absorbed.

After using the mask and serum, I further apply a light layer of moisturiser. I did this for 2-3 days consecutively.

Results - noticeably brighter skin!

Retails at around SGD 99 at Sasa.
